Job Description
The Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI) invites applications from qualified and motivated Tanzanian graduates to fill various internship positions for the 2026/2027 financial year. This internship programme is specifically designed to provide young graduates with practical workplace experience, professional mentorship, and opportunities to enhance their skills and competencies.
Responsibilities
- a) To collect and compile news for the Institute’s newsletter;
- b) To collect and compile information to assist in the preparation of annual reports, booklets, speeches, prospectuses, etc.;
- c) To ensure proper recording and filing of press cuttings for public relations purposes and responses;
- d) To assist in facilitating conferences, seminars, ceremonies, and the production of radio and television programmes;
- e) To deal with customer inquiries relating to the quality and availability of services;
- f) To supervise the production and distribution of calendars, diaries, greeting cards and posters;
- g) To report public criticisms and complaints to the immediate supervisor;
- h) To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Applicants must be between 18 and 45 years of age at the time of application.
- All applicants must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania.
- All applicants must attach certified copies of their academic certificates, academic transcripts, Form IV/Form VI certificates, and birth certificate.
- Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure that their certificates are verified and evaluated by the relevant authorities (TCU or NECTA, as applicable)
Qualifications
- Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communication, International Relations, Business Communication, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
